Dan Northcote-Smith

Brands doing funny, young creatives and their books, why Radiohead are special. And ADHD: I found The & Partnership creative director Dan Northcote-Smith via an article on his ADHD diagnosis and found a bit of a kindred spirit of experience. A career guided in part by it, harnessing the pluses and managing the minuses, the liberty of a diagnosis. More on that in another show, no doubt.

Dan bounced between boom bap era hip hop (Dilla & Badu) and classic R&B (Al Green's Love & Happiness), gorgeous indie with a bass line (Men I Trust), jazz on the right side of radio-friendly (Ezra Collective) to "the best guitar solo ever" from Golden Brown. If you listened live you'll have heard Dan take control of Hoxton Radio for a special extension, playing some of the tunes left on the cutting room floor - like a beauty from Bobby McFerrin's daughter, Madison. It was all gold; he's a natural.
