I always thought Shook was named in homage to the Mobb Deep song, which I thought was cool. It was only after I’d joked about a no-Oasis rule with Gemma Moroney – co-founder/ behaviour designer (and can I say strategist?) – that I found out it was from Shakermaker, the Oasis song.

It’s only just struck me that Damon Statt may have been the first person I asked to play a soundtrack in the style of these CD Sounds shows. The other Shook co-founder was at Mischief at the time and it seemed like a good way to link up with people in the Engine group, which was where I was too. That must have been 7 years ago and it didn’t happen.

Gemma is technically the strat, Damon the creative, but they both think that the other is brilliant at eachothers job. They say that they share a brain, which is understandable after working together for 18 years. EIGHTEEN YEARS?
We talked agency names, clients we do/don’t want, trashy TV.
They played Tina Turner, Frank Sinatra, Liam Bailley, The Proclaimers and Oasis, of course.
