Mike Robb

Mike Robb didn’t really wear a PowerPoint shirt—and probably wouldn’t. Socks, maybe. It’s perhaps unfortunate that the Boldspace founder says it’s his specialist skill; he meant cutting content and communicating without the fluff, not muscle memory for shortcuts.

I worked with Mike back in 2018, when he ran a department at MHP. He was the best kind of creative collaborator: a “yes, and…” guy who only said no when it mattered. His knack for getting the story straight in a deck was, on reflection, magic.

That sense of perspective extends beyond slides, and I think knowing what matters — and what doesn’t — is part of why Boldspace is thriving. And calming, too. My heart rate literally dropped during the show. No doubt the music helped: Elbow, Andy Williams, and Phil Oakey’s gorgeous “Together in Electric Dreams.”
